Wicklow Uplands Council is proud to be part of a nationwide campaign to promote responsible outdoor recreational activities.
Titled ‘Outdoors For Everyone’, the campaign led by Sports Ireland, will see agencies and organisations across the country promote core messages aimed to address issues identified in the sector around outdoor recreation facilities such as Littering, Trespassing, overcrowding (Staying local), and parking to name but a few.
Every Friday, starting from November 20th, for a 8-week period each organisation will share the same core messages across their online channels in a coordinated and collaborative approach to emphasise 8 key messages under the theme of the safe and sustainable use of the outdoors.
To read more on the guidelines issued by Sports Ireland, please see: Stay Safe in the Outdoors Guidelines.
A number of the agencies and organisations involved in the campaign, have also provided advice specific to certain activities such as hillwalking and fishing, and also other considerations such as Leave No Trace and public health (Covid 19) matters. Please visit: Useful Links
