At the heart of the mountains lie the remains of the ancient monastic city of Glendalough which is one of the most frequented tourist attractions in Ireland

The Wicklow Mountains are a Mecca for hill walkers and outdoor enthusiasts from all over the world. The uplands are the perfect retreat from busy urban life


The Wicklow Uplands supports a network of thriving towns and villages and is home to some c. 33,000 inhabitants
