The Board of the Council is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the current Strategic Plan with progress being assessed twice per year using a series of performance indicators
Strategic Plan 2026-2030
In 2024 and through 2025, Wicklow Uplands Council engaged in consultation with members, staff and partners to develop a five year Strategic Plan 2026-2030. The plan sets out four Strategic Aims to guide our work over the next period. Central to this will be building our Organisational Strength, using our Collective Voice, Supporting Climate Resilience and Biodiversity Gain while fostering a Sustainabile Economy. This Strategic Plan will help build on the successes of our historic and current key projects, while at the same time, investigating new initiatives and policy developments in line with our mission to support those who live, work, and recreate in the Uplands.

Strategic Plan 2021-2023
In 2020, Wicklow Uplands Council engaged in consultation with members, staff and partners to develop a three year Strategic Plan 2021-2023. The plan sets out a series of objectives to guide our work over the next period. Central to this will be building on the successes of our current key projects, while at the same time, investigating new initiatives and policy developments in line with our mission to support those who live, work, and recreate in the uplands.
Strategic Plan 2014-2016
The Uplands Council employs a part time co-ordinator (4 days per week) and an administrator (10 hours a week) so there is a need to be realistic about what can be achieved by the organisation. The focus must be on a small number of key priorities and projects which make a clear contribution to the development of the shared vision of the Uplands Council.
