Walk on St Kevin’s Way organised for Easter Saturday
A walk has been organised to take place St Kevin’s Way on this year’s Easter Saturday, the 16th of April to coincide with Annual Pilgrimage Week.
Joining the pilgrimage route of St Kevin’s Way, the 12km walk will follow the historic trail that connects the 6th century monastic settlement of Glendalough, with the villages of Hollywood, and more recently, Valleymount. Taking pilgrims and hikers alike through some of Wicklow’s most breath-taking settings, St Kevin’s Way is one of Co. Wicklow’s most popular upland trails and forms part of Ireland’s network of pilgrim paths. Participants can avail of the Pilgrim Passport initiative on the day.
Meeting at 9.30am in Glendalough before taking an organised bus to the starting point of Ballinagee Bridge on The Wicklow Gap.
Appropriate clothing and footwear are required and no dogs are permitted.
Booking in advance is required with more details available on www.pilgrimpath.ie and on their Facebook page Glendalough Pilgrimage
